Relationships Matter

Relationships do indeed matter. You’re not just a number. The start of your Clean Juice journey begins with a phone call. We want to hear the excitement in your voice. This brief ‘Get to Know You’ phone call will be collaborative, fun, and, of course, informative. We’ll share as much (or as little) as you want to know about Clean Juice – but we also want to make sure you'd be a great new member of our family!
Request for consideration

Once we confirm your awesomeness – and you confirm ours – we ask that you complete a formal application. It’s also quite simple. The key to this application is the ‘Why Clean Juice?’ part. We’ll also carefully review the support and financial requirements necessary to start your organic juice and food bar.
Review Our FDD and franchise agreement

Okay, some say this is the scary part – but it’s an important part. The Franchise Disclosure Document is the document that officially binds us and sets expectations. This document is well-known by all of our current and future Franchisees. Don’t worry! We’ll walk you through it and review this document on this call (or calls) so you feel prepared to sign it.
Meet Us Where It All Started

This is the best part – a day you will always remember! This is the Discovery Day at our Home Office in Charlotte. This is where you meet the entire team – starting with coffee with our Founders! The agenda is packed with meaningful and intentional opportunities, from sitting down with each department head to jumping behind the juice bar to make your organic favorites (and eat them). This will be your opportunity to feel the vibe and to put the proverbial “organic cherry” on top of joining our family!
Preliminary Approval

After Discovery Day, we talk with the management team and formally discuss your business plan and ultimately, choose you to join our family! You’ll get an email (and a few other surprises) officially welcoming you to our Clean Juice family!
Finalize The Franchise Agreement

Now that we chose you, you then have to officially choose us! Then it becomes official. You’ll seal the deal by signing the Franchise Agreement. Then the fun really begins, because you’re bringing Clean Juice to your community! Hooray! Queue the confetti!

Now that you’re officially a Clean Juice franchisee, our teams work with you to help navigate all the steps in the process of opening your store! How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Our proven step-by-step opening system paves the way toward a successful opening. Here are the milestones:

1. Find the Perfect Location
Using data and all the latest information, along with some common sense, we’ll guide you through every step of the site selection process to ensure you’re in the right place and in front of the right people.
2. Graduate with Honors at Clean Juice University
We’ll teach you virtually everything you need to know about running a successful Clean Juice store, including a crash course in operations, supply-chain management, marketing, and more.
3. Build Your Vision: Architecture & Construction
Your brick-and-mortar storefront is where the magic happens, so we’ll help you review architectural plans, select a general contractor, submit plans to the health department, and put the finishing touches on your Clean Juice store.
4. Open with a Bang
Now that you have a beautiful storefront, let’s work with the creative Marketing Service team to create buzz and let your community know about the opening! From social media management to search engine optimization, influencer marketing and B2B partnerships, our Clean Juice Marketing Services team works arm-in-arm to ensure our organic voice and mission are heard by the right people at the right time and in the right place.

Q:How did Clean Juice get started?

A:Clean Juice® was started in 2014 by Kat and Landon Eckles. Landon’s career required him to travel frequently and be away from Kat and their children. The couple decided to put their destiny in their own hands by starting a new business, and Kat’s passion for healthy living led her to look into starting her own certified organic juice bar. She and Landon jumped into the idea with 100% motivation and heart, and on June 5, 2015, the first Clean Juice location opened its doors in Huntersville, North Carolina. In just a few short years Clean Juice has grown exponentially and was the very first juice bar franchise to be USDA-certified organic. Because of their extensive experience, Kat, Landon, and the rest of the Clean Juice crew know all about how to start a juice business!
Q:How many employees does a typical Clean Juice store have?

A:Clean Juice locations generally follow a simple staffing model. Each store has one General Manager, one Assistant Manager, 3 to 5 Shift Leaders, and 12 to 15 Juiceristas. That’s right, we made up a word! Juiceristas – like baristas, but for juice! We love our Juiceristas. They are our frontline and make Clean Juice possible.
Q:How much is the initial investment to open a Clean Juice location?

A:The total investment necessary to begin the operation of a Clean Juice Business ranges from $279,000 to $685,500. This includes $45,000 that must be paid to the franchisor. If you enter into a multi-unit agreement with us, the total investment necessary to begin the operation of three stores ranges from $325,400 to $767,500. This includes $91,000 to $127,000 that must be paid to the franchisor.
Q:How much is Clean Juice’s franchise fee?

A:Your investment in how to start a juice bar business with Clean Juice includes an initial franchise fee of $45,000. That fee makes opening your location as simple as possible, and our development team will be there for you every step of the way. Our finance team will guide you through accounting and funding. The marketing team will help ensure your store opens with a bang, and the operations team will turn you into an expert at operating your store efficiently.
Q:Does Clean Juice offer support if I have no business training?

A:Yes! Our home office team is truly amazing and knows everything there is to know about how to open a juice bar business. Our experts are there to help you every step of the way. We love working with and supporting our Franchisees and we promise to go above and beyond to support our Clean Juice family. Our Franchise Business Consultants will work closely with you and will visit your store twice per quarter to help you grow your business! The Clean Juice team offers support with marketing, training, operations, finance, and accounting.
Q:What qualifies me to be a Clean Juice Franchisee?

A:While a person’s financial qualifications are important, we are in the business of partnering with the right people, not the right background. Our founders spend one-on-one time with each prospective franchisee to get to know them and make sure there are synergies and common interests. We love to partner with people who are focused on health and wellness, and who truly understand why organic is important. We love people with passion and an energy for life. We love people who lead with kindness. We love people with a drive. When evaluating a candidate, and before awarding a franchise, we make sure to take the whole picture of a person into account.
Q:How long does the process take to get my Clean Juice store open?

A:We require that a store must be open within nine months of signing a franchise agreement. Often the leasing process takes up most of this time, so the quicker this gets started, the sooner you will open. Our development team will guide you through this step as quickly as possible.
Q:Does Clean Juice help with site selection?

A:Yes! In fact, we do not allow you to sign a lease for a retail space until the site has been approved, and most times visited, by our Director of Real Estate. We are extremely involved in not only the site selection process but will work closely with your real estate broker during the LOI and lease negotiations.
Q:Do you award Clean Juice franchises to only owner/operators, or can I solely be an owner?

A:We require all of our owners to be very present, hands-on, and involved. This might mean 40+ hours a week for the first 6 – 9 months. But remember — involved owners are successful owners!
Q:Does Clean Juice help with obtaining funding?

A:Yes! We work with several 3rd party financing companies that can help with funding your Clean Juice store. We know this can be stressful, so we’ve gone above and beyond to select partners you can trust!
Q:Can I buy a Clean Juice franchise in a market that I don’t live in?

A:Yes, although we believe it’s very important that you have ties to the market you’re entering because our brand is so focused on integrating into the communities we serve. It’s always best to own a store where you reside, but we’ll work with you to create a plan to successfully own a location outside of where you live. Each situation is unique and has to be a good fit.
Q:How does the supply chain work at Clean Juice?

A:We aim to make the supply chain as simple as possible! The Clean Juice Home Office carefully chooses and sources organic ingredients so they can be easily ordered from our national distributors. We also give our Franchise Partners detailed training on how to order ingredients and wares properly.
